Rigging can sometimes be a tricky process, especially when you're just starting with Blender. Even experienced users encounter errors that can halt their progress. In this article, we'll cover some of the most common rigging errors in Blender and provide step-by-step solutions to fix them.

Spine.004 Disjoint Error

  • This is a common error when using the Rigify addon, often showing up as “Spine.004 disjoint.”

  • This happens when the bones in the spine are not aligned properly, which can affect the overall rigging structure.

How to Fix It:

  •    Select the head of the Spine.004 bone in the armature.
  • Use the Cursor to Selected shortcut (Shift + S) and choose Cursor to selected.

  • Select the Spine.003 bone, and then use Selection to Cursor (Shift + S) to align it correctly.
  • Now, regenerate the rig by clicking Generate Rig again.

This should fix the disjoint error and properly align the spine bones for the rig to function correctly.

3. Scale Not Applied (Small Rig Issue)

If you notice that your rig appears too small compared to your model, it's usually due to not having the scale applied to your model before generating the rig. This can lead to an incorrectly sized rig that doesn't match your character.

How to Fix It:

·       Select your Rig In Obejct Mode.

·       Press Ctrl+A and Apply the scale.

·       This will make the scale value as 1.

jn

·       Now, regenerate the rig by clicking Generate Rig again.

This ensures that the rig is created with the correct scale relative to your character model.
